Elden Ring meets Final Fantasy in upcoming Unreal Engine 5 GOTY contender

Elden Ring meets Final Fantasy in upcoming Unreal Engine 5 GOTY contender

Chrono Odyssey looks stunning

Few RPGs are as immersive as the likes of Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Remake and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, so when a stunning new game arrives that blends a bit of each, it gains our attention.

One such game is Chrono Odyssey developed by Chrono Studio and published by Kakao Games. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, to say that Chrono Odyssey looks stunning would be an understatement and would certainly be worthy of a game under the FromSoftware, Square Enix or Bethesda umbrella.

Check out the Chrono Odyssey trailer below!

“Game features include awe-inspiring visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, a vast and intricately designed seamless open world, dynamic action-based combat mechanics based on time manipulation and extensive customisation,” reads the game's description

“A seamless and unrestricted exploration of any terrain is offered by Chrono Odyssey thanks to its open-world concept. It also features many different biomes, including grasslands, snowlands, swamps, and more.”

Judging by its gameplay trailer, Chrono Odyssey almost looks too good to be true. Of course, we can never tell how good a game is going to be until we get to play it, but the early signs are looking very promising indeed.

Naturally, for a game that is as visually impressive as this, Chrono Odyssey will give your PC a bit of a pasting with minimum requirements of an Intel Core i5-3570K and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 needed just to get the game going.

With comparisons to the likes of other major RPGs in recent years, the hype for Chrono Odyssey could very well be real. Will Chrono Odyssey be the next major Game of the Year contender?

Chrono Odyssey does not have a solid release date at the time of writing but we do know that it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. We can’t wait to see if Chrono Odyssey lives up to its early potential.
