Over the years, we have seen Elden Ring beat by a fish or via a dance mat and everything in between but those very skilled gamers are now turning their attention to Palworld with one streamer playing the monster-taming title via mind control.
Released earlier this month, Palworld is the latest video game to take the world by storm. Combining the monster-catching elements of Pokémon with classic survival game features, the PocketPair title has gone on to become the second ever game to hit 2 million concurrent players on Steam.

However, whilst most players are playing it the normal way via controller or mouse and keyboard, one Twitch streamer is doing things a bit differently by using an electroencephalogram (EEG) device to control the game via mind control. Yes, you heard me correctly.

Perrikaryal is the brains behind this phenomenon with the streamer regularly using this equipment to beat games such as Fortnite, Elden Ring, Halo Infinite and Fall Guys. The EEG works with a small amount of voice commands and gyro- and eye-tracking is used for movement which together allows Perrikaryal to move, shoot and craft her way through Palworld.
“When you’re thinking about different things your pattern of brain activity (the frequency of brain waves, how much there is, and where roughly they’re coming from) is different,” Perrikaryal recently told Polygon. “Using a brain-computer interface, I can train (via machine learning) the software to recognise what particular patterns of brain activity look like. These are mental commands.”
It is perhaps unsurprising that Perrikaryal is able to achieve this impressive feat considering she has a masters in psychology. As a result, she was even able to beat Elden Ring’s Malenia using the technology. With her Palworld goal being a bit simpler - to catch a Pal - we doubt it will be long before she is successful.
