Elden Ring-style RPG Deathbound confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

The soulslike RPG Deathbound is everything you need to tide yourself over until FromSoftware drops its next major hit.

If you’re like me and love a good soulslike game, you’ll likely love everything FromSoftware has ever released, and while the developer is the undisputed king of games that raise your blood pressure, other titles can be just as good.

While I’d tend to recommend games like Lies Of P or Nioh, that could very well change when Deathbound drops, especially since it’s now dropping on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

Prior to the latest announcement by the game’s developer, the game was thought to be launching on PCs via Steam, the Epic Games store, and GOG.

Fortunately that’s not the case, as players on all major platforms, except the Nintendo Switch, will be able to explore the dark fantasy world of Deathbound on launch day.

For those who’ve never heard of the game though, allow me to fill you in, though it’s pretty straightforward.

In short, Deathbound is a soulslike game that sees players refuse death as one of four different characters, each with their own unique skills and abilities.

Unlike FromSoftware’s games that see you go it alone, aside from the occasional NPC summon, Deathbound lets you play as a group, allowing you to seamlessly switch between your heroes at will.

Of course, like any good soulslike, you’ll need all the help you can get, as it's filled to the brim with dangers and difficulty spikes, as well as some spectacular bosses to encounter along the way.

If you’re a fan of unforgiving games and some of FromSoftware’s best work, it’s one to keep on your radar, and it’s coming to PCs, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 sometime this year, though an exact release date doesn’t exist yet.
