Cyberpunk 2077 has a horrifying secret we're only just noticing

This sent a shudder straight through me

If you thought you’d seen all that Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, you might want to think again.

It turns out that Phantom Liberty is harbouring a horrifying secret that one player has just discovered on their fourth playthrough.

This particular find was brought to light by Reddit user Man_Of_The_Banished who wrote, “I've played Phantom Liberty four times now and just now noticed the facial implant towards the right.”

“I originally thought the implant was something that they'd just slip under your original face but no, they pulled a Yujiro Hanma vs Kioh Raiyu and tore that joker off.”

If that didn’t send a shudder down your spine, it gets worse.

“I managed to get a screenshot from the left side where you can see that the ‘face’ isn’t a face at all,” added the_moosey_fate.

“It’s actually your character’s entire body, parallel to the floor, looking straight up in the most unnatural way. It legit freaked me out at first. It’s like you’re loaded into a torpedo tube.”

Dearest reader, I do not like this.

But I do like Phantom Liberty, torpedo tube human bodies aside, so you should definitely check it out if you haven’t already.

I’ve already said ‘it gets worse’ once, but I fear I might have to say it again.

“Fun fact, that thing is referenced in the game files as ‘V_in_a_jar’. The name makes even more sense now,” wrote ChunkeeMunkee3001.

You can take a look at this grisly find below.

Yet to dive into Phantom Liberty? Well if this dark discovery hasn’t sold you on the game, perhaps our review can.

GAMINGbible’s Ewan scored Phantom Liberty a respectable nine out of 10, writing, “I really can’t say enough good things about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It fills me with joy to be able to report that this is a deeply ambitious expansion that fires on all cylinders and never delivers anything less than a stellar experience. CD Projekt RED is walking away from Cyberpunk 2077 in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”
