Fallout games just surpassed 5 million players in a single day

Unless you have been living under a rock, you would have noticed that the Fallout franchise is currently in its comeback era. As a result, over 5 million of us have returned to the wastelands in recent weeks.

The beginning of April saw the long-awaited Prime Video adaptation of Fallout hit our screens and within weeks, it had become widely accepted as one of the best video game adaptations of all time.

With fans desperate for more of the post-nuclear war-torn setting of America, both old and new Fallout fans turned back to the original source material; the Bethesda games.

Spanning from 1997 with Fallout 1 to 2018 with Fallout 76, the RPG titles have been the cornerstone of the genre for almost 30 years. Now, thanks to the success of the TV show, they are back in the limelight.

The exciting news comes courtesy of the official Fallout Twitter page which revealed that an impressive five million people had played a Fallout title in a single day. Additionally, it was the MMORPG Fallout 76 that welcomed one million players by itself.

It is no surprise that the Fallout games are welcoming an influx of players after recent reports revealed queues on the PlayStation 5 for Fallout: New Vegas, crashes on Nexus Mods and even a 7500% sales increase for Fallout 4.

All of this comes after the success of Prime Video’s Fallout which has not only already been confirmed for a second season but has fans speculating as to who will make a cameo in upcoming episodes.

For those who wish to pick up the most recent main title in the Fallout series, Fallout 4, now is the perfect time to do so as Bethesda will be releasing a new-gen update for the title on 25 April. This will see the 2015 entry head to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S alongside 60fps support.
