Elden Ring, Diablo, and Zelda collide in stellar new Xbox game

Elden Ring, Diablo, and Zelda collide in stellar new Xbox game

There never is any rest

From the creators of Ori and the Will of the Wisps comes a new game that couldn’t be more different from the cute MetroidVania we know.

No Rest for the Wicked is coming soon to Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam and looks to be colliding several tastes together. There’s a dash of Elden Ring, a dollop of Diablo and it’s all topped off with a scoop of The Legend of Zelda. We’re loving the brooding atmosphere of this new action game, a game being dubbed “a visceral, precision Action RPG.” I’m not sure why the word precision is in there, but I tell you what, this game looks stunning.

This dark adventure is looking like one we want to go on

Just browsing across the Steam page for the upcoming game, there’s a lot to take in and appreciate. No Rest for the Wicked relies on brutal combat where you will “Feel the weight and speed of each weapon through their own move sets.” The tale being told is an “epic human saga” with treachery, plagues, and people vying for a place on the throne.

The visuals here are lush, painterly, with vivid colours among the darkness. In every moment of the trailer the world seems to come alive with beauty, despite the bleak story the weaves its way throughout. With online multiplayer and loads to do in your single player life - like owning homes that can be decorated - you’re going to be busy for quite some time, and there’s no complaining from us.

With a studio like Moon Studios at the helm, you can expect some emotional moments among the scenes of action and chaos. They managed to deliver a heartfelt campaign through both Ori titles, so we can expect a brilliant story here.

More of the game will be revealed on 1 March via a digital showcase, and I for one can’t wait to see more.
