PlayStation gamers are hitting out at Sony over a recent opportunity to nab free store credit - more specifically an opportunity that was apparently all-too easy to miss.
For those who might not be aware, PlayStation has a loyalty scheme called PlayStation Stars. It's totally free to sign up, and if you do you can complete various tasks in certain games to earn digital collectibles and points, which can be traded in for store credit.
Naturally, any purchases you make via the PlayStation Store will also net you points, so if you don't actually have a Stars account yet I'd urge you to get one. Even if you don't use it that often, you'll start earning some money back for any games you buy.

Last week PlayStation announced all the latest campaigns it'll be running through Stars for March. As usual, it's mostly about playing specific games to get some new trophies, but there are a few extra chances to net some points too.
However, some users have hit out at PlayStation Stars for one reward that seems just a little bit unfair. Under the most recent blog post, one user has slammed the campaign that nets you 250 if you buy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The issue, it appears, is that you can only claim these points from buying Final Fantasy VII Rebirth if you buy the game from 1 March.
Given the game came out 29 February, many are wondering why those who didn't pre-order or make a day 1 purchase should get extra points.
"Lesson learned: never buy games at release and wait for the coins coming next month or so," the top comment reads. "Please Sony, use your thinking hat. Loyalty programs are there to drive pre-orders and keep customers engaged. Sales and discounts are the way to drive sale of older games. Your Stars design just generates frustration and disengagement."

It certainly seems like an odd oversight, and I can see why people who ordered the game before 1 March might be a little pissed. Still, if you've yet to get Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, consider this your chance to net some bonus points.
