All Spider-Man live-action movies are returning to cinemas this year

Spidey is back on the big screen

Sony has announced that all of the live action Spider-Man films will be returning to cinemas across the months of April through to June. This event is to celebrate 100 years of Columbia Pictures and the films will arrive in the same order they were originally distributed.

This means you can see the Sam Raimi trilogy starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst; you’ll be able to watch Andrew Garfield’s turn as the hero, with Emma Stone, in his two films; then you can catch Tom Holland and Zendaya in the MCU trilogy. If you’re a webhead, this is a great chance to watch the brilliant films once again on the big screen.

Of course, this is totally to celebrate the Columbia Pictures anniversary and not to reclaim lost revenue from the supreme flop that was Madame Web, of course. It doesn’t matter that the recent superhero flick failed to raise the pulses of any fans and is being panned by pretty much everyone, including its cast.

Well, whatever the reason, it’s cause to celebrate. As if we need an excuse to rewatch Tobey Maguire discover his powers in the original film, or rock out on the street in his black suit from the third. This also gives us a chance to appreciate Andrew Garfield’s performance which, let’s be honest, is pretty underrated.

There is no word on the Spider-Verse films making a comeback which is a shame, but hardly a surprise given the most recent film wasn’t out long ago. While we’re on the subject of Spider-Man films, there is no concrete news on Tom Holland’s next appearance. The last we heard, he is waiting for the right story to bring his version of Spidey back. Hopefully it won’t be long because the MCU needs our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
